2020 is all about Getting Back to Basics & Streamlining
It’s not just the beginning of a new year, it’s the beginning of a new DECADE! Can you believe it? The truth is, I love-love-love Christmas season but by the time Jan 1st rolls around, I’m ready to get after it. Before the end of New Year’s Day, “we” (meaning Oliver), have all of our lights and decorations taken down, the carpet cleaners scheduled and annual goals firmly in place. Yes – I’m that person and yes, you can slap me now.

A Paradigm Shift to CLEAN BEAUTY
What can I say – new beginnings excite me. It must be an Aries thing. IDK. Another thing that excites me? Getting back to basics, especially when it comes to beauty. Every year, the beauty industry promotes latest and greatest “trends” that we’re all supposed to buy into. I’ll usually take note, discard what won’t work (ummm, unless you’re 23 years old or Rhianna neon eyeshadow is going to look ridiculous), and try a few that appeal to me.

Overall, 2020 reflects an entire paradigm shift to CLEAN BEAUTY: A movement driven by female consumers (that’s you and me babe) who demand products that are safe, non-toxic, cruelty-free, sustainable and earth friendly. We are so much more aware of what we are putting in and on our bodies and the beauty industry is responding in spades. I mean – they have to, right?

3 Beauty Trends for 2020
Look, there are a myriad of beauty and skincare trends for this upcoming year, no doubt. As with anything – be discerning. Weed out the hype and decide which ones resonate with you the most. You know, the trends that pique your interest with a vicersal “Ooooo! I’ll try! I’ll try!”
The trends where your initial response is my adolescent signature-move Eyeroll, are the ones you’ll want to leave behind for someone else. Toner is usually the skincare step that most women skip – myself included. I’ve always thought it was a waste of money and an easy way for skincare companies to pad their bottom line. Yeah, I’m a total skeptic.
