Delicious, healthy and filling – this high-protein post-workout shake is a great option for breakfast, post-workout or even an afternoon snack.
Consuming protein after your workout is really important! Why? Well, because it helps to rebuild the muscle fiber broken down during exercise, improves recovery and enhances performance for your next workout.
Translation: It’s the special sauce to getting the look you’re working so hard to achieve!
When should I eat?
I get this question a lot. Ideally, you want to eat a light “meal” like this, within 45 minutes of exercising. This delicious shake works equally well as a yummy on-the-go breakfast or as a light lunch for days when you just aren’t that hungry, which umm….. really never happens for me. Keepin’ it real.
Oh – and this shake is of course Plant-Based!
Strawberry Protein Shake | PLANT-BASED
Ingredients
- ½ cup non-dairy yogurt (we like coconut milk yogurt)
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 tbsp peanut or almond butter
- ½ scoop Plant-Based Protein Powder
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup water or your favorite nut-milk (I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a high-powered blender, and umm……BLEND until it’s nice and creamy! Add a little more milk or water if a thinner consistency is desired.
