The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale started a couple of days ago, which means great pricing for gorgeous fall pieces, but just for a limited time. At the end of the sale, the prices go up! They really do.
In between high-school & college, I worked for Nordstrom at their flagship store, downtown Seattle. I was an assistant-manager (I know, bossy even back then), which meant that I got to merchandise and style all of the featured pieces for the sale. Now I get to offer Styling ideas for all of you ladies! I know, it’s rough.
Here’s how it works:
The majority of Anniversary Sale pieces are “Special Purchase.” That means, merchandise is brought in brand new, specifically for the sale. NOT just markdowns on pieces they want to clear out. That’s why it’s such a big deal. Nordstrom is a big player, so they’re able to negotiate amazing deals with brands for unbelievable prices. Take advantage of it!
There are some really amazing deals – and they DO sell-out. If you checked out my Anniv Sale Top Beauty Exclusive picks, you know that a number of the items I recommended SOLD OUT in the first few hours of the sale. Once the Sale ends – the prices go up. Many items just sell out.

Why it Works:

And can we talk about this amazing Pebbled Leather Cross-body bag?? LOVE – and the price is honestly, unbelievable. I had to look twice – $132 for the sale, $199 after….. It’s a Nordstrom label, which means they had it made especially for them = better price! If you like it – grab it. It’ll go fast.

Why it Works:
A pair of skinny black jeans are paired with an over-the-knee boot for a long, streamlined silhouette (flattering!). The leather top is sexy for nighttime and works perfectly with the denim and boot.
The faux-fur jacket is obviously the “statement piece!” Because the rest of the outfit is simple and dark, the animal print jacket works perfectly. Not too much – but enough to be fun and head-turning. I paired this look with the Bucket bag (not on sale, but still a good price), because when you take off the coat at your destination, the black bag with the gorgeous gold hardware and chain looks rich and luxurious!
