10 TIME-SAVING MEAL PREP Tips for PLANT-BASED Meals

Wellness |

Hi Everyone!

Realness check. Half the battle of eating healthy on a consistent basis, is just flipping knowing WHAT to eat, and being prepared – amiright?

This is especially true now that we’ve migrated to a Whole Food Plant-Based Diet.

The other issue – is Meal Prep. Eating WFPB can be a bit more time consuming with all the veggie chopping….I’m just sayin’. THAT’s why I’ve asked our Guest Chef – Katie Farina of Katie’s Healing Kitchen to help us out with some easy MEAL PREP Tips.

10 MEAL PREP TIPS

ONE

Make a plan! Pick out recipes that excite you, create a shopping list and decide which meals to eat which days.

TWO

Start with a clean + organized kitchen. DO you have excess stuff on your counters that limits your space? Place it another room until your done.

THREE

Pick one 3 to 4 hour block of time to prep and cook for the week. Be sure to do the dishes as you go too!

FOUR

Look for shortcuts! If you don’t have time, buy things like pre-spiralized veggies, vegetable broth, bagged lettuce and nut milks.

It’s all about clean, simple foods & simply delicious recipes!

FIVE

Shop the frozen section! Buy frozen produce (it’s already been cleaned and cut up) and then just add to your meals in the last few minutes of cooking.

SIX

Cut up your veggies and place in ziplock bags to make meal time a snap. Or even pre-blanch all your veggies so they can be easily re-heated (they won’t need to be cooked) or eat as is.

SEVEN

Multi-task! Prep all the things that need to go in the oven at once or make sauces while something is simmering!

This Portabello “burger” with garlic & pesto packs SUCH a yummy flavor punch – your guy will begrudgingly love it. Click for Katie’s recipe.

EIGHT

Think mason jars! Pre-prep salads into mason jars, add dressing and shake + go. Do the same with mason jar smoothies.  Prep all fruits/veggies/powders in mason jars and then just add liquid + blend.

NINE

Prep your snacks too! Do things that excite you like mini chia pudding parfaits, superfood muffins, kale chips and raw truffles.

TEN

Invest in meal prep containers to make packaging everything easy and compact. Costco and Home Goods have great products for this!
