It’s all about the Shimmer!!
I absolutely LOVE everything about Holiday Glam. It’s just festive, happy, sparkly and special! Awwww……. It’s also the time that we can get away with loads of shimmer, glitz, glam, sequins and sparkle – and not look as though someone forgot to take her meds….. Let’s take FULL advantage, shall we? Yes, we shall.
For holiday makeup, I love adding shimmer and glitter strategically. Meaning – not all over my face, which may start rumors of my cocktail-ing habits. Below – my favorite Glam-y products for looking sparkly, beautiful and bright all season long!

Celsetial Eyes Palette, Charlotte Tilbury
Sparkly, celestial eye shadows from Charlotte Tilbury is an all-time fave. I love the sexy sophistication of this Quad palette. Not only is it absolutely stunning for the holidays – it is equally stunning and usable year round. The shadows go on with a shimmery translucence that looks rich, yet still light and just gorgeous!
Diamond Light Highlighter, by Too Faced
If you’re a Glam-Fan…and I know you are – you’ll love that this finishing highlighter is actually infused with real crushed diamond powder and pearls, which works to give a very diamond-like glow.
NOTE – IMO, this is a product that will work better on younger women because has a strong iridescence vs. the more sophisticated “glow” of say, the Marc Jacobs Dew Drops. I’d say under 30-ish, but you’re the boss of you! Super cool Stocking Stuffer.
Melted Matte-tallic Lips, by Too Faced
Ok – so this is a metallic, liquid lipstick but it dries into a Matte finish…. noodle on that for a second. Some of the colors are a little too metallic-looking for me, but I LOVE Faking It (ummm, it’s the name of the lip color….) and Bitch I’m Too Faced…. So, yeah. May wanna think twice before giving that one to your mother-in-law.
Urban Decay Glitter Eyeliner
If you like the idea of glitter, but don’t want to look like you ran into a snow globe, this liner from Urban Decay is your bag, baby! The brush tip is very thin, making it a cinch to swipe it over a cat eye for a little sparkle, or add a glitter accent underneath the lower lashes. I am partial to Gunmetal or Stagedive – both of which will give that little bit of sparkly boost without being too much.
Smith & Cult Luxe Polish Trio
Cruelty Free, which we love….. I love that these little lacquers come in a Trio! I mean, we want to wear more than just one holiday color, right!? I personally wear The Message, which is the dark crimson. It’s a more sophisticated take on “red.” Consequence of Fame is a glowy gold – a total holiday color.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide Liner, in Born to Run
Lining the waterline of your upper eyelid is a secret beauty trick used by professional make-up artists. It lifts the eyelid and defines the eye. The problem is that the liner always transfers to the lower waterline, or smudges. NOT with this Waterproof liner! Silky smooth application that stays put. LOVE this in Born to Run for holidays!
Damn Girl Mascara, by Too Faced
First of all…. THE NAME!? My friend and I were sitting right across from the 2 Founders of Too Faced at The Plaza in NYC last Christmas. They were carrying a tiny little Pomeranian dressed to the nines, of course. Anyhoo, glammy, dramatic eyelashes are a holiday must in my book!

L’Oréal Lash Boosting, White Primer
I’ve tried much more expensive brands, but always, always come back to my favorite L’Oreal drugstore White Primer. It flat out cannot be beat as the perfect, lightweight primer to boost and build great lashes. Apply to upper and lower lashes, let it dry – then swipe your favorite mascara over the top for dramatic, fancy-pants lashes!
Becca Lip Love, in Ruby
I am a huge fan of BECCA products. Her luminizers, highlighters and shimmery shadows are always, always on point – and she doesn’t disappoint with Ultimate Lip Love. Creamy, long-lasting and moisturizing – the lipsticks have a touch of her signature light-reflecting elements, giving lips a sexy, glowing “lit from under” look. Loving Ruby for holidays!

This brightening pen is da bomb. I’ve used it for at least 10 years and keep coming back for more. It’s an all-over brightening, smoothing, perfecting formula-pen that literally works magic. I use it to perfect my skin after finishing makeup.
A little under the eyes in an upside-down triangle to lighten & lift eyes, down the bridge of the nose, a little in between the eyebrows & up an inch to luminize. Just click the pen and the creamy formula is dispensed through the soft brush. Love!
Lip Injection Lip Gloss by Too Faced
Love! Gives you glossy, pouty lips and just a little bump of extra plumpness for a period of time. More than that – it’s high shine, sexy and gorgeous! I wear it alone or dot it over the center of my lips to give the appearance of fuller lips.
Baked Body Frosting, by Laura Geller
She had me at Body Frosting. I mean, there’s seriously something to be said about naming your product something delicious, right? This allover body frosting is actually a silky, moisturizing pressed powder that you swipe over face and body for a hint of warm, bronzy, pearly luminosity!
I love that the color is buildable, so you control the intensity. Plus – you can use it wet or dry. Dry, will give a light luminous color and Wet gives more intensity and drama. Super versatile.
Ardell False Lashes, in WISPIES BLACK
My Make-Up Artist, Heather got me hooked on these babies. I’m fussy about false eyelashes. They have to be full, long and dramatic enough to make my eyes pop – but not SO much that I look like a drag queen, or like I’ve got spiders crawling on my face. The Ardell Wispies in Black is dead on! They are full, brighten & open they eyes and give a touch of Glam. They’re also what I wear in all of my photos, fyi. Want a little more drama? Apply mascara to them until you get the look you love – easy!
Body & Face Illuminizer, Josie Maran
This is a super versatile shimmery, liquid illuminator that gives skin a gorgeously luminous, healthy, sexy GLOW! It’s made for face and body, but I just like it on my body – not my face. I find that it’s a little too shimmery on the face, even when mixing it with foundation but it’s gorgeous on the body. Swipe it anywhere the light would naturally hit – Shoulders, Collarbone, Décolleté, Tops of forearms, Triceps & Scapula (makes them pop!)….. and don’t forget legs! Swipe over Shin bones, Knee caps and Tops of Feet for sultry glowy-ness. Glow Girl!
Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Highlighter
Limited Edition Cult-favorite. This is the luminizer you want for face! It’s a limited edition (so grab if you likey), in a new warm rose-gold shade which is universally flattering on most everyone. It instantly lit up my complexion with a “lit from within” look. You can use it either directly on your face – tops of cheekbones, bridge of nose, cupids bow or blend it with your foundation or primer for a softer look. Oh – and it’s formulated with coconut and provitamin B5 to hydrate and nourish our skin.

I love a classic Red Lip during the holidays – Mac, Ruby Woo. I keep my eye shadow light & shimmery – Charlotte Tilbury, Bette, add a simple cat-eye liner and Ardell Wispy false eyelashes. Done!
Rich & Dazzling Lipgloss, in Hidden Talents
This particular gloss is SO HOLIDAY! Don’t let the color in the tube scare you off. For evening, I usually wear it alone for a light shimmery-diamond-y look, but if you want total dramatic sparkle layer it over your favorite lip shade! Play with it – it’s absolutely gorgeous and decadent ;-).
MAC Prep + Prime Lip, Lip Primer
You apply this to your entire lip area including over the edges, before applying your favorite lip color. A primer reduces feathering, hydrates and smoothes the look of the lips. I mean, we want to be kissable under the Mistletoe, right?
Urban Decay All Nighter, Makeup Setting Spray
Winner of Allure magazine’s ‘Best of Beauty’ Award for Best Setting Spray, 2019. Ok this is the stuff. If you want your makeup to look just as fresh 16-hours later, this is the one for you. Even after a night of dancing and cocktails – this All-Nighter protects makeup! Best – it does not melt off the face or settle into fine lines. I’ll take 2, please.
Smashbox Photo Finish Radiance, Face Primer
With this product, you don’t get what you pay for….in a GOOD way. I’ve used a lot of expensive Primers, and never really found any one in particular that I just had to have. Until this Smashbox Photo Finish Radiance. A fraction of the price of most high-end brands, I go back to this again, and again.
This is a luxurious, silky, satiny moisturizing primer that gives the entire face a gorgeous amber glow as soon as you smooth it on. It illuminates and blurs imperfections (yes!), creating a smooth pretty canvas for your foundation and holiday makeup. LOVE this stuff. Not for oily skin types, fyi.
