Seriously – are guys are the absolute hardest species on earth to buy for, or what? Every flipping Christmas – my sister and I are texting each other “What should we get Dad??” “What does Oliver want??”
To make matter worse, when asked – they’ll BOTH insist that they don’t need or want anything. WTF is THAT about? Not helpful. This year, I devised a plan.
Delving into “guy-land”, I researched a ton of different gift ideas FOR men, BY men then asked Oliver to vet my top picks. These are HIS personal Top 10 Picks. The ones that he loves or would love to have. Oh – and now I have his Wish List ;-). Strategy my friends. Strategy.

He will kill me for this one – but let’s talk back hair for a second. NOT hot, right? Under normal circumstances – Oliver goes to the esthetician for a lil’ Man-Grooming, but in 2020, it’s had to be DIY!
This DIY Electric Back Shaver has an extra-wide head for covering larger areas, like the back, and a nice long handle for easy reaching. Translation – he can totally do this all by himself. No help required 😉
Nike’s Killshot 2 Sneakers always sell out fast – but now they’re (temporarily) back in stock! Seriously cool, comfortable and will go with pretty much anything in his closet. Perfect for ZOOM meetings….. professional from the waist up, jeans & sneakers waist down. Ha!
Digital Notebook
If his office is littered with “great ideas” written down on stickies – here’s the ticket! Now, he can easily jot down ideas, notes & even drawings onto the Folio Smartpad and they’ll be saved digitally. No more “Hey, have you seen the yellow sticky with a phone number on it?”
Personally – I love the look of this Double-Wall Glass Brew Bottle. Clean, sleek and cool looking. Translation – it won’t muck up your pretty house if he leaves it on the countertop. Just sayin’.
Double glass keeps coffee hot & hands comfy. Stainless steel filter for balanced taste, AND leak-proof flip top lid. It IS made of glass, so if he’s super clumsy this may not be the best idea for him. Otherwise, it’s a thumbs-up in terms of quality and coolness appeal.
Decadent! I put this black truffle hot sauce in my dad’s Stocking last year, and he loved it. Infused with black truffle, chili peppers & organic agave nectar – it’s the perfect balance of upscale yet approachable. It’s definitely spicy, but not in a burn-the-crap-out-of-your-mouth way.
It’s got an ever-so-subtle undertone of sweet. with just enough of a black truffle note to give it a more complex, interesting flavor profile. Delicious on roasted chicken!
The equivalent of giving kids an iPad to keep ’em entertained. Oliver isn’t a golfer, BUT thought that this Indoor Putting Green was a really cool idea for guys-who-like-to-golf.
10-feet long, with an automated ball-return (nice!) – it’s the perfect way for him to practice his mad putting skillzzzzz if he’s ummm, stuck at home for months on end during a pandemic, or something like that. Stores easily too.
Look, cashmere is always a good idea, IMO – but this year especially. Comfy-cozy is the name of the game, and Cashmere is the perfect blend of cozy & decadent. Oliver usually layers this buttery-soft crewneck sweater over a white T-shirt. Sporty, laid back – yet still perfectly acceptable for business-casual Zoom calls. Love!!
