TOP Swimwear picks from my favorite swimwear line – San Diego based, women owned and operated PilyQ Swim. Perfect for your Summer vacay – or just hanging by the pool.
Cabana-Chic, super cute swimwear that does it all!
You know what I love? Finding an amazing brand – then learning that not only is it women-owned and operated (we like that!), but that it’s also Headquartered right here in San Diego! That’s what I discovered with my favorite swimwear line – PilyQ Swim.
Launched in 2011 by fashion experts Pily Queipo and Amber Delecce-Forge, PilyQ Swim is a super cool line of Cabana-Chic swim and resort wear inspired by the world travels of the team.
What I have grown to love about this particular brand, is that each design is based on 3 very important elements to us as women:
+ Supportive fit
+ Flattering cut
+ Hand selected high-quality fabrics, sourced from some of the best mills in Spain and Italy.
What does this do for us?
Everything….. it ensures that the suit fits correctly for the most flattering look, supports us in all the right places – and just wears well. Cheap or lower-quality fabrics may save a couple bucks, but we pay for it with fabrics that don’t hold or hug in the right places, which is far less flattering on our bodies (no thank you!). Frankly – they end up looking used and worn way too quickly – which ends up being more expensive in the long run. PilyQ suits run anywhere from approximately $134 – $178 or so, which is reasonable given the quality and cuteness factor!
Sports Illustrated
In 2017, PilyQ was featured alongside a number of Sports Illustrated models in that years edition – and can be seen on numerous celebrities and in major magazines as well. PilyQ is carried in a number of large retailers including Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Revolve, Neiman’s and the like – but I personally prefer to go directly to their site for access to all of their designs. We need options, ladies!
For sizing reference:
+ I am wearing a “Small” bottom and “Medium” top in all suits pictured
+ Bottoms generally come in “Full” or “Teeny.” Full = average rise and full coverage. Teeny = Low rise and minimal coverage.
+ I am wearing “Teeny.” Teeny is not obnoxiously small though – think of it like a V-shape (not even close to a thong don’t worry!), while Full is more like a U-shape in terms of coverage.
+ They begin at a size Small (not XS).

Sporty Ferrarini White Crochet
This sporty suit is my favorite, followed closely by the Dot Milly (the Polka Dot suit following this one.) I love the combination of sportiness and strength with a hint of tasteful-sexy. Being athletic and bigger busted, this suit feels sturdy, secure and very supportive. It uhhh, holds everything securely in place. The white is crisp and fresh, with crochet and exposed elastic detailing in bright pretty colors for a fun summer pop of fresh color. Love it!
Dot Milly Knot Bandeau
Super cute retro feel. I’m not a “bow” girl, but I found myself loving this Polka Dot Bandeau! It’s more of a tie-knot than bow, and the color is a strong, yet warm rosey-nude. The stark white polka dots make it pop! Comes with removable straps and removable padding.
Poppy Reversible Andrea Tie Top
Vibrant gorgeous, saturated royal blue with white poppies makes for a fresh, summery, tropical feel. The color looks beautiful on most every skin tone. The top is reversible – but the reverse-version is more suited for smaller busts…. I didn’t want to embarrass myself with a wardrobe malfunction on the beach, so I chose not to model the reverse version. ;-/
Poseidon Layla off-shoulder
A unique look from typical triangle bikini tops, this is reminiscent of those sexy off the shoulder tops we wear for evening – yet designed for the beach or resort. The Poseidon Layla suit tasteful and classy, yet still breezy, fun and sexy! NOTE: This top has non-removable padding and IMO is better suited for smaller busts, like A-B or maybe a small C depending on your comfort level and the look you’re going for.
I still shot the suit because it’s so darn cute, but you can see that the padding is probably too much for me (I’m a D-cup). The website doesn’t state that the padding isn’t removable, so FYI on that part.
