Dermaplane: It’s a Skin Game-Changer! Add it onto your facial. It takes 10-15 minutes and allows product to penetrate deeper into your skin for max benefit!
It’s kinda like shaving your face – but NOT…..
Ok – I’ll admit it. I used to think that it was really, really weird that women actually paid to have their faced shaved… ‘scuze me…. Dermaplaned. Why would you pay for something that you can do at home? I mean – I’m not really a DIY kinda gal, just shrewd I guess. I thought Dermaplaning, was the same thing as running a razor over your face – only more expensive. WRONG!
DERMAPLANING – What is it?
Dermaplaning is an exfoliating treatment in which your dermatologist or aesthetician uses a sharp surgical scalpel, held at a 45 degree angle to scrape off dead skin cells & peach fuzz from your face.
It’s oddly satisfying and refreshing in a “my face feels so clean” kinda way – seriously!
Why You’ll Love It:
+ Removes dead skin cells & peach fuzz
+ Enhances the penetration of product into the skin
+ Smoother, brighter complexion
+Diminishes fine lines
+ Make-up goes on much smoother
+ Immediate results & no down-time!
I started Dermaplaning a year ago & never looked back!
I had my first Dermaplane a year ago, when I went in for a monthly facial with Chrissy, my go-to aesthetician at Alexis K in Solana Beach. She talked me into it and I loved it SO much – I’ve never looked back. Seriously. First, it just feels clean and refreshing. Second, my make-up goes on smoother & Third, my skin always looks brighter and cleaner after!
The treatment takes 10-15 minutes, and you can do it as a stand-alone option or as a part of a facial. Pricing will vary depending on where you live, but in San Diego you can expect to pay $50-$125.
Personally, I always add it on as part of my facial. First of all – it’s more efficient (I like 2-in-1 stuff!), second I love that it preps my skin for all of the hydrating, nutrient-rich goodies I know Chrissy is about to slather on my skin during the facial!! It’s also usually less expensive if you add it onto a facial, vs a stand-alone appointment. So there’s that.
Dermaplane vs Shaving:
The difference between shaving your face and having a professional Dermaplane service is, umm…..well, it’s sort of like the difference between brushing your teeth at home vs. having a professional cleaning at the dentist!
If you haven’t tried Dermaplaning yet – consider trying it! It’s fast and inexpensive, so if you really don’t care for it – no big deal. If you end up loving it as much as I do – SCORE!!
