Fall Trends That Are Fun & Easy to Wear!
Ok, I know itâs technically still summer, but seriously once mid-August rolls around, time hits the âXâ button and all of a sudden itâs Labor Day, Fall, the clocks roll back and then BOOM â Holiday time, baby! CRAZY.
One of the best things about Fall? Fall clothes! Buttery cashmere sweaters, chic boots, cozy puffy jackets and everything in between. I love fashion and staying on-trend, but Iâm not a slave to it.
My general M.O. is to choose a few flattering seasonal trends and work them into my existing wardrobe. I mean, itâs so easy to look super chic with just a few key pieces and you really donât need to go balls out or break the bank to do it.
Obvi there are tons of fall trends, but Iâve taken the liberty of sifting through and bringing you only the best of Fall 2019! Well ok â the trends that I personally like the best. I can’t feature something if I don’t personally love it myself. I’d make a crappy politician. ;-/.

I didnât include the âQuilted trendâ which is exactly what it sounds like. Clothes that look like you made a jumpsuit out of an old quilt. Youâre welcome. I also passed on âStatement Hats,â one of which was canary yellow, made of felt and looked like you were wearing a bird beak on your head. WTF?? Are designers trying to punk us? Not working.
These are trends the that are so easy to wear & work seamlessly for a number of occasions! So without further adieu â letâs get started!
LEATHER
Not the typical black leather jacket. Leather (Real, Faux or Patent) is live and in color! Think leather blouses, trousers and dresses and of course cool jackets. You donât have to dress in head to toe leather â unless thatâs your thing. No judgey eyes here!
Style Tip
Pair a leather top, like the gorgeous ivory Vegan Tie Shirt below, with a pair of dark denim skinnies or wide-legged trousers. Wear high-waisted boot-leg leather pants like the Faux Leather Pant below with a buttery cashmere sweater or a gorgeous satin blouse for a cool look that wonât overwhelm!
Satin is also “IN” – and I paired my black Patent Skinny Pants with a bright fuchsia satin halter top, and black booties for a fun Date-Night đ

PLAID + KNITS
This isnât the plaid, high-water, bell-bottom pants I wore in my 3rd grade school picture. Thank god. These plaids are cool, sophisticated and fun to wear! If you haven’t already – prepare to see versions at every retailer from the high-end to more budget friendly shops.
Not just limited to pants! Jackets, pants, hats, scarves, tops, handbags & even shoes â take your pick. Want to ease into the trend? A pair of plaid pants is perfect!
Style Tip
Plaid Pants aren’t hard to wear! Just pair them with a solid color sweater, t-shirt or blouse and BAM! You’re officially trendy ;-). I’ve included lots of fun knit sweaters for you to choose from – they’ll go perfectly with plaid slacks!
KNITS!
Knits are another trend that personally, never goes out of style in my closet. This time it’s all about layering knits on top of each other. Throw on a cozy cable-knit, then wrap another chunky sweater around your waist or throw it over your shoulders. Wrap a knit scarf around the neck for instant style.
This is such an easy trend, and who doesn’t have a ton of sweaters in their closet? I’m loving cashmere, wool, mohair, alpaca and silk knits â they’re all beautiful.

FAUX FUR
Faux Fur is chic, fun and IN! If youâre like me â you wonât wear real fur. It turns my stomach. Faux fur â love it! I have about 5 or 6 faux fur jackets in my closet – ranging from black, steel gray to bright red and even forest green. Trust me, there are some amazing, amazing faux fur jackets that are flat out luxurious, decadent and gorgeous.
They’re not the cheap & cheesey faux’s of the past. Depending on your personality â wear it as a head turning statement piece with a toned down outfit OR go head-to-toe monochromatic.
Style Tip:
I like to wear jackets over my shoulders for a more relaxed look. Yes, I realize that I’m talking about looking relaxed in a fur jacket lol. You know what I mean though, right? I also love wearing it just tossed over my arm, almost like a super luxe accessory. It gives visual interest, texture and an element of luxury to your look!
Pairs great with denim, t-shirt or blouse and a great pair of strappy sandals or pumps. For Date Night or Girls Night, wear your favorite faux fur with black Skinny Leather Pants, a shimmery satin blouse and black high-heeled booties for a long, streamlined but chic look!
