Easy, Casual Elegance. Living on the coast in Southern Cal – that’s about as fancy as we get. Out and about or walking the dogs around the neighborhood – people are just flat-out friendly, relaxed and will most always smile and say “good morning,” or stop to pet the dogs and chat.

That’s just how we roll. Drivers will stop, smile and wave to let you cross the street. It’s really nice, and something that I’ve taken for granted until a friend from out-of-town commented, “Wow – I can’t believe how NICE everyone is?” Hmmm…… Yes, I guess we are!

Easy and Welcoming

This easy, casually elegant – and super delicious NO Added-Sugar, Hazelnut, Pecan & Almond Dark Chocolate Bark w/Dried Cherries reflects that vibe. Welcoming, easy and elegant, without an ounce of pretension.

Toasted Nuts & Dried Cherries are added to No-Sugar Chocolate Chips which are simply melted in the microwave. Fridge for 30-minutes and Enjoy! That’s it!

Add anything you like…

1-lb to 2 cup ratio is the general rule of thumb

This is such an easy and flexible recipe. The general ratio is about 1-lb of chocolate to about 2 cups of add-ins. Although for this recipe I used an extra 2oz of chocolate chips & 2.5 cups of add-ins. Bags of chocolate chips are 9-oz each, so….. I just used the whole 2 bags 😉

Use any combination of nuts, seeds and dried fruits that you like – but make sure to toast your nuts. Ahem. Toasting the nuts, will allow the flavor to fully bloom, adding so much more dimension to the bark.

Ingredients
  

  • + 2 bags (18-oz) Sugar Free Chocolate Chips
  • + 1 TB Coconut Oil (or butter)
  • + 1/2 tsp Almond Extract
  • + Pinch of Salt
  • + 1/2 cup each of: Hazelnuts, Almonds, Pecans
  • + 1 cup, no-sugar dried cherries

Instructions
 

  • Heat oven to 350.
  • Toast nuts on baking sheet, 8-12 min. Remove & allow to cool.
  • Place chocolate, coconut oil, almond extract & salt in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Microwave in 30-sec increments, stirring each time until melted.
  • Pour nuts & cherries into chocolate mixture, stir to coat.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper + Pour chocolate/nut mixture on parchment paper, & spread to 1/2″ thick.
  • Sprinkle with a little Sea Salt
  • Place in Fridge or Freezer for 30-minutes.
  • BREAK into Shards & Enjoy!
