Hands Down The 2 BEST REED DIFFUSERS Ever! (Home Fragrance)

Wellness |

Ok ladies –

You know when you find something that you’re SO freaking excited about, that ya just gotta SHARE it with your friends?! Me too!! I mean, that’s pretty much why I started APC. I love finding cool new things & sharing them with you. It’s kinda how I’ve (always) rolled.

Anyhoo – I can’t tell you how many years I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect Reed Diffuser for the house. I LOVE reed diffusers. I’m super particular about the way our house smells and let’s be real – you never want to be the woman whose house smells like cat pee. Reed diffusers are the perfect way to fill your home with any fragrance reflective of YOUR personalit-AY!

Jo Malone of London is my #1 Best of the Best Pick. Hands down. Intoxicating Couture blends, Elegant, Every drop lasts.

The 2 Biggest Issues with Most Reed Diffusers

They Smell Cheap or The Scent Doesn’t Last

Sound familiar? Aside from Jo Malone (any scent) & Voluspa (specifically Prosecco Rose) the vast majority of reed diffusers I’ve tried have had 1 of 2 issues or both.

1. They Smell Cheap

The scent-description sounds intoxicating, but once opened – it smells CHEAP, nauseating – or not as expected. Last Christmas I bought Nest’s “Sugar Cookie” scent. Sounds good right? Awaiting its arrival, I was doing the giggle with a seal-clap just thinking about my brand new Nest diffuser filling the house with the scent of warm vanilla “sugar cookies” at Christmas.

No joke, I opened the bottle and gagged while my stomach simultaneously lurched. It smelled liiike…. sickeningly sweet, heavy, overpowering maple syrup & cheap plastic, that had been sitting in a dirty hot car on a 110-degree day.

I didn’t want to throw it away, so I put it in the garage powder room. Harmless, right? Nope. It was SO BAD that the smell assaulted the entire downstairs of our home.….from the garage!! Crap. Garbage can. Don’t buy that one. ;-(

My #2 Best Pick – Voluspa Prosecco Rose. Clean & fresh, not overpowering & Lasts. This is in my Powder Room!

2. The Scent Doesn’t Last

This is the biggest issue with reed diffusers, for most everyone. You find a scent that you love, put it in your living room or wherever – and it smells ahhhhh-mazing…. for a week or 2. Then – crickets. The smell disappears & you’re left with a bottle of useless oil. No bueno, and a big waste of money.

This is why you’ll LOVE Jo Malone & Voluspa

Amazing clean scents that LAST

JO MALONE of LONDON

Why You’ll Love it

It flat out smells expensive, which always puts me in a good mood. So there’s that. Truly, I love her entire line of Home Fragrances – reed diffusers, sprays and candles. They’re elegant, sleek, understated yet the fragrance is definitely there. I love the Basil Mandarin Candle for my Morning Intentions.

Yes, it’s a touch pricey, BUT lemme tell ya. The scent LASTS until the bottle is GONE Girl. Another brand may be half the price, but if you can’t smell it after a couple weeks – it’s not less expensive.

My 2 Favorites

+ Lime Basil, Mandarin

Understated with an undertone of White Thyme – it has a subtle, semi-powdery, yet fresh scent that I find incredibly relaxing and calming. I strategically placed 3 of them on the main level – so it softly permeates the whole floor where we spend most of our time. So peaceful!

Pomegranate Noir

This is definitely a sexy-scent. It just grrrrrrowls…… Grrrrr.

It’s got a bit of a spicy kick to it, but is softened with primary notes of pomegranate, raspberry & plum. The spiciness comes from notes of pink pepper, casablanca lily and spicy woods. I put this one in the Master, for obvious reasons. ;-D. It’s a definitive scent while the Lime Basil version is softer and a bit more subtle.

VOLUSPA, PROSECCO ROSE

Oddly, I’ve tried a number of Voluspa diffusers and it’s been a total hit and miss. Although the actual fragrances were gorgeous, the scent didn’t last as long as it should. Except for Prosecco Rose. This one lasts.

Why You’ll Love it

First, it smells amazing. It’s NOT a heavy rose scent (like an old lady’s hand cream). It’s crisp, light and clean – literally like smelling a fresh rose. Second – it LASTS for the entire bottle. No idea if they’re using a different formula or what, but I’m a fan.

I love it in the Powder Room because it’s not overwhelming for a small space. I keep another in my office – which Oliver has now taken-over during the “stay home” sitch…. And, uhh – it’s in need of a little “Freshening”. Otherwise it smells like a Frat House. Just sayin’.

Ok gals – THOSE are my 2 favorite brands for amazing home fragrance that lasts. JO MALONE offers a nice variety of ahhh-mazing couture scents so if my picks don’t appeal to you – try one that does. You cannot go wrong with her line in terms of quality and longevity – so pick what sounds best!
